Curtis Media Group is hiring a Full-Time On-Air / WMJV Music Director in New Bern, NC.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
*Office hours are 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday. Weekends as needed.
*Maintain a professional and positive attitude and image in the community of advertisers, co-workers, and the
general public.
*Must have a working mobile phone and laptop (expenses are the sole responsibility of the employee).
*Be accessible to co-workers and management at all times and return calls and messages in a timely manner.
*Attend and work events for the radio stations as needed (may include nights and weekends).
*Must have personal, reliable transportation (all related expenses are sole responsibility of the employee).
*Other duties as assigned by Sales Management.
ON-AIR
*Point Person for WMJV.
*Enter music into AudioVault as needed.
*Write and produce imaging as needed.
*Check carts for outdated promos and radio spots.
*Perform a daily live airshift.
*Do production as assigned.
*Keep the engineer appraised of issues.
WEBSITE/SOCIAL:
*Post blogs/recorded interviews on the WMJV website at least once per week. Use only images created by the
station or stock photos from Getty with proper credit
*Add concerts to the concert page on the website as they are announced.
*Add live remotes/appearances/events to the events page on the website. Check events page for outdated
content
*Check website contest pages regularly to ensure that contests are posted and dated properly. Check all contest
copy, as well as start and end dates
*Monitor social media for messages/posts from listeners and respond in a timely fashion
*Update social accounts regularly – Insta, FB, X, whatever the station has. Memes/articles/ info/polls should be
shared at least once daily, if not once per shift, from local staff. Always share content, unless that station created
it. Do not post memes/images/photos that do not belong to the station without the proper credit or permission
*For sharing contests on FB, or actual FB contesting, you must use “#promotion” and include a link to rules in
the text box
*Check sales drive regularly for sponsor updates to contests/promotions. Ensure that all contests are posted on
station(s) websites correctly. Check for any cluster promotions that should be posted.
